Ingredients
- 6 cups cubed stale bread
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 celery stalks, diced
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 cup chicken or vegetable broth
- 1 tsp poultry seasoning
- 1 tsp dried parsley
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- Optional: 1/2 cup cooked sausage or dried cranberries for variation
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375ยฐF (190ยฐC) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add onions and celery, cooking until softened, about 5 minutes.
- In a large bowl, combine cubed bread, sautรฉed vegetables, and seasonings. Mix well.
- Whisk eggs with broth and pour over the bread mixture. Stir until evenly moistened. The mixture should hold its shape when pressed together.
- Form the mixture into golf ball-sized rounds and place them on the baking sheet.
- Bake for 20โ25 minutes or until golden brown and crisp on the outside.
- Serve warm with gravy, cranberry sauce, or your favorite dip.
