Valentine’s Day Millionaire Bars with Swirled Chocolate are rich, festive dessert bars layered with buttery shortbread, smooth caramel, and creamy swirled chocolate that look bakery-worthy but are easy to make at home.
Ingredients
- 1 cup salted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 11 oz bag wrapped soft caramels
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 12 oz white melting chocolate or almond bark
- 2 oz pink melting chocolate
- 2 oz red melting chocolate
- Valentine sprinkles, optional
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F and line a 9×13-inch pan with parchment paper.
- Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy, then mix in vanilla.
- Add flour and mix until a soft dough forms.
- Press dough evenly into prepared pan and bake for 20 to 25 minutes until lightly golden.
- Allow shortbread to cool completely.
- Melt caramels with heavy cream in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
- Pour caramel over cooled shortbread and spread evenly.
- Refrigerate for 15 to 20 minutes until caramel is set.
- Melt white chocolate and spread evenly over caramel layer.
- Melt pink and red chocolate separately and spoon small dots over white chocolate.
- Use a toothpick to swirl colors together.
- Add Valentine sprinkles if desired.
- Refrigerate for at least 1 hour until chocolate is fully set.
- Lift from pan and slice into bars with a sharp knife.
