Description

This simple one pan chicken noodles with butter sauce is a cozy, family-friendly dinner made with tender chicken, egg noodles, and a rich buttery sauce, all cooked in one skillet.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups low sodium chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 8 oz egg noodles
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt, or to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken with salt and black pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat and cook the chicken until golden and cooked through, then remove and set aside.
  3. Add butter to the same skillet and melt over medium low heat.
  4. Stir in the garlic and cook briefly until fragrant.
  5. Pour in the chicken broth and scrape up any browned bits.
  6. Stir in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer.
  7. Add the egg noodles, cover, and cook until tender and the sauce thickens.
  8. Stir in the Parmesan cheese until melted.
  9. Slice the chicken and return it to the pan, warming through before serving.

Notes

Use a wide, deep skillet so the noodles cook evenly. Add a splash of broth if the sauce becomes too thick while cooking.
