Description

A hearty and comforting one pot dinner made with tender steak, cheesy tortellini, sautรฉed peppers and onions, all tossed in a rich garlic parmesan sauce. Perfect for busy weeknights with minimal cleanup.

Ingredients

  • 1 to 1.5 pounds sirloin steak, cut into bite sized pieces
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 2 cups frozen or fresh pepper and onion blend
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 12 ounces refrigerated cheese tortellini
  • 1 cup chicken broth, low sodium preferred
  • 6 ounces garlic parmesan wing sauce
  • 1 cup shredded parmesan cheese
  • Fresh parsley, chopped
  • Extra grated parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium high heat.
  2. Season steak with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.
  3. Sear steak in the skillet for 2 to 3 minutes per side until browned, then remove and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, sautรฉ peppers and onions for 3 to 4 minutes.
  5. Add minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  6. Remove vegetables from the skillet and set aside.
  7. Add chicken broth to the skillet and bring to a gentle simmer.
  8. Add cheese tortellini, cover, and cook for 8 to 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  9. Reduce heat to medium low and stir in garlic parmesan sauce.
  10. Add steak and vegetables back to the skillet and simmer for 2 to 3 minutes.
  11. Sprinkle shredded parmesan cheese over the top, cover, and let melt for 2 to 3 minutes.
  12. Garnish with fresh parsley and extra parmesan cheese, then serve hot.

Notes

Do not overcook the steak during the initial sear. If the sauce becomes too thick, add a splash of warm chicken broth to loosen it.
