Description

Nutella Banana Swirl Mini Muffins are sweet, soft, bakery-style treats made with ripe bananas and rich chocolate hazelnut swirls. Easy to make and perfectly portioned, these mini muffins deliver wonderful flavor for breakfast, snacks, brunch, or lunchboxes.


Ingredients

  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup Nutella, slightly warmed


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and grease or line a mini muffin pan.
  2. Whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
  4. Add mashed bananas, egg, and vanilla extract and mix well.
  5. Fold dry ingredients into wet ingredients just until combined.
  6. Fill mini muffin cups about three-quarters full with batter.
  7. Add about 1 teaspoon of Nutella on top of each muffin.
  8. Use a toothpick to gently swirl Nutella into the batter.
  9. Bake for 10–13 minutes until set.
  10. Cool briefly in pan, then transfer to a wire rack.

Notes

Warm Nutella slightly for easier swirling. Avoid overmixing the batter and do not overbake to keep muffins soft and moist.
