Ingredients
- 1½ pounds large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 pound asparagus, trimmed and cut into 2-inch pieces
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 tablespoons olive oil or butter
- 1 large lemon, zested and juiced
- ½ teaspoon salt, plus more to taste
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Fresh parsley or lemon slices for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Pat shrimp dry with paper towels and season lightly with salt and pepper.
- Heat half of the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add shrimp in a single layer and cook 1½ to 2 minutes per side until pink and opaque.
- Remove shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
- Add remaining olive oil to the skillet.
- Add asparagus and sauté for 4 to 5 minutes until tender-crisp.
- Reduce heat to medium and add minced garlic.
- Cook garlic for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add lemon juice and lemon zest and stir to combine.
- Return shrimp and any juices to the skillet.
- Toss everything together and cook 1 to 2 minutes until heated through.
- Adjust seasoning and garnish with parsley or lemon slices before serving.
Notes
Use large shrimp for best texture and avoid overcooking. Serve immediately for the freshest flavor.
