Ingredients
For the Cake:
- 1 box chocolate cake mix (about 15.25 oz)
- 3 large eggs at room temperature
- 1/2 cup (120 ml) vegetable or canola oil
- 1 cup (240 ml) whole milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt to enhance flavor
For the Green Slime Icing:
- 3 cups (375g) sifted powdered sugar
- 3-4 tablespoons milk
- 2 tablespoons light corn syrup
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Green food coloring (gel or liquid)
- Small pinch of salt
For Decoration:
- Edible candy eyeballs (available at baking supply stores)
- Halloween-colored sprinkles (orange, black, green)
- Crushed Oreo cookies (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare cake batter with noted modifications (or not, whatever suits you), mix with an electric mixer or electric beaters. Stir in chocolate chips, if using.
- Spray bundt pan with cake release, and bake according to package instructions.
- While cake is baking, put icing in a bowl and whisk milk into it until you reach a pourable “slime” consistency. Add food coloring, and set aside.
- When cake is done baking, remove from pan and allow to cool completely. Pour icing over top, then add sprinkles and eyeballs.
