Ingredients

Instructions

- Cream softened butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add molasses, egg, and vanilla; mix until smooth.
- Gradually add dry mixture to wet ingredients and mix until a soft dough forms.
- Press dough into a disk, wrap, and chill at least 4 hours or overnight.
- Roll dough to 1/4-inch thickness, cut shapes, and place on baking sheets.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 8–10 minutes until edges are set.
- Cool on wire racks, then decorate as desired.
