Description

Easy oven-baked cheesy tacos made with seasoned ground beef, melty cheese, and crispy tortillas, perfect for a fun and comforting family dinner with minimal effort.

Ingredients

  • Ground beef
  • Olive oil
  • Onion, finely chopped
  • Garlic, minced
  • Taco seasoning
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • Small flour or corn tortillas
  • Shredded cheese (cheddar, Monterey Jack, or blend)
  • Salsa (optional)
  • Sour cream or plain Greek yogurt (optional)
  • Shredded lettuce (optional)
  • Diced tomatoes (optional)
  • Sliced avocado or guacamole (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and cook the chopped onion until softened.
  2. Add the minced garlic and cook briefly until fragrant.
  3. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up as it cooks.
  4. Drain excess fat if needed and stir in taco seasoning, salt, and black pepper.
  5. Warm the tortillas briefly so they are pliable.
  6. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and lightly grease a baking dish.
  7. Spoon taco filling onto one half of each tortilla.
  8. Sprinkle generously with shredded cheese.
  9. Fold the tortillas over and arrange them snugly in the baking dish.
  10. Bake uncovered until the tortillas are lightly crisp and the cheese is melted.
  11. Remove from the oven and serve hot with desired toppings.

Notes

Arrange the tacos close together so they hold their shape while baking and avoid overfilling to prevent them from opening.
