Description

Creamy one pot seafood alfredo with shrimp and crab is a rich, comforting dinner made with tender shrimp, sweet crab meat, and a silky homemade alfredo sauce, all cooked together for maximum flavor and minimal cleanup.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 8 oz lump crab meat, picked over for shells
  • 12 oz fettuccine pasta
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon salt, or to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley, optional

Instructions

  1. Pat shrimp dry and season lightly with salt and pepper.
  2. Melt 1 tablespoon butter in a large deep skillet or pot over medium heat.
  3. Add shrimp in a single layer and cook 1 to 2 minutes per side until pink.
  4. Remove shrimp from the pot and set aside.
  5. Add remaining butter to the pot and sauté garlic for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  6. Pour in chicken broth and heavy cream, stirring to combine.
  7. Bring to a gentle simmer and add fettuccine to the pot.
  8. Cook uncovered over medium low heat, stirring frequently, for 10 to 12 minutes until pasta is tender.
  9. Reduce heat to low and stir in Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth.
  10. Gently fold in shrimp and crab meat.
  11. Add paprika, salt, and black pepper to taste.
  12. Cook 1 to 2 minutes until heated through.
  13. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

Add the seafood at the end to keep shrimp tender and crab meat intact, and stir pasta often to prevent sticking.
