Ingredients
- Salmon fillets
- Olive oil
- Salt
- Black pepper
- Orzo pasta
- Butter
- Garlic, minced
- Chicken or vegetable broth
- Lemon juice
- Lemon zest
- Cream or half-and-half
- Grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh parsley or dill
- Lemon wedges (optional)
Instructions
- Season the salmon fillets with salt and black pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat and sear the salmon until golden on both sides.
- Remove the salmon from the pan and set aside.
- Reduce heat to medium and melt butter in the same skillet.
- Add the minced garlic and cook briefly until fragrant.
- Stir in the orzo and toast for 1–2 minutes.
- Pour in the broth and bring to a gentle simmer.
- Cook until the orzo is tender and most of the liquid is absorbed.
- Lower the heat and stir in cream, lemon juice, lemon zest, and Parmesan cheese.
- Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
- Nestle the salmon back into the skillet and warm through.
- Finish with fresh herbs and serve with lemon wedges if desired.

Stir the orzo often to prevent sticking and adjust the lemon and cream to taste for the perfect balance of brightness and richness.
